• College and Career Readiness Committee

The College and Career Readiness Committee is a new District enrichment group, started in the 2017-18 school years. It is a district-wide committee consisting of students, parents, staff, local business owners/workers, college/university staff members, representatives/veterans from the military, and other community members that are interested in contributing to the success of our Pre-Kindergarten-Twelfth grade students.

The goals for our first year will be the creation of the "Attributes of a Central Square Graduate," as well as strengthening our pathways to college and/or career, which are the courses we provide for students to take based on their specific interests and desired future possible careers.  It is very difficult for students to determine what type of careers they want to go into years before they are ready to do so, especially since many of the jobs that our current students will enter into do not even currently exist.

To prepare them for this, we feel that this committee, through partnerships with local stakeholders, will be a valuable resource for generations to come.  The goals of this committee will evolve as society evolves to meet the increasing demands on our students so we can continue to "empower all students to excel as citizens in a changing world," which is our District's mission statement.
