Free and Reduced Lunch Program
Children from households that meet federal income guidelines are eligible for free meals or reduced price meals. Reduced price meals cost each eligible student $ .25 for breakfast and $ .25 for lunch. Each eligible student is entitled to one breakfast and one lunch per day.
Families must apply for free or reduced price meals each new school year.
One way to apply for free or reduced price meals is to get a Direct Certification letter from New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and take it to your school. There is no need to complete an application as long as all the children in your household are listed on your Direct Certification letter.
The second way is to complete an Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals, sign it, and return to school as soon as possible.
