Primary Work Activities

  • Directly oversees all aspects of curriculum and instruction.
  • Collaborates with the Superintendent regarding administrator’s goals and evaluations.
  • Acts as part of the negotiation team for relevant contracts.
  • Works directly with administration regarding student disciplinary matters and Code of Conduct.
  • Assumes responsibility for all organization and implementation of all District-wide testing.
  • Meets regularly with the principals to discuss instructional and personnel matters related to the success of the program.
  • Serves as the “outside evaluator” for teachers and administrators and conducts formal observations, evaluations, and post observation conferences with teachers to consistently improve instruction.
  • Coordinates district professional development. 
  • Facilitates the district’s new teacher orientation and mentoring initiatives. 
  • Provides oversight for District’s home-schooled students. 
  • Coordinates the development and operation of all state and federal grants. 
  • Attends all Board of Education meetings.
  • Facilitates the District Policy Committee.
  • Serves as the next level of communication for parents after they have communicated with their child’s principal and still need further clarification regarding any questions, comments, or concerns.
  • Supports and attends pre-K through 12th grade afternoon events for our students and school programs.
  • Serves as the District DASA Coordinator.
  • Serves as members of the Executive Cabinet.
  • Attends all relevant regional meetings and professional development and communicates important information back to relevant personnel.
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Cabinet to prepare a District budget while overseeing the department budget.
  • Assumes other related duties as a member of the Executive Cabinet at the direction of the Superintendent.
