Winter Drumline

This year's Winter
Drumline program is entitled "Convergence".
Convergence denotes the approach toward a common view or opinion,
or toward a fixed or equilibrium state. It can also denote the
blending of two equally important ideas.
Our show features music from around the Mediterranean Sea, which
has over the centuries of trade, helped blend the music and indigenous
instruments of Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
This year's show
is presented in 3 parts:
"The Heat of the Day" - composed by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays
"Arabian Waltz" - by Lebanese-born composer Rabih Abou-Kahlil
"Afro Blue" - interpreted by Afro Cuban drummer and composer
Mongo Santamaria, sultry jazz singer Diane Reeves, and
virtuosic vibraphonist Gary Burton
Our
2008 staff includes:
Director - Mark Woods
Coordinator - Wayne Dean
Instructors - Nick Bennett, Pat Blakely, and Josh Rosato
Arranger - Rich Ziemba
