Longtime CS Boys Coach Set to Lead Redhawk Girls Varsity Hoops

On April 9th, 2024 the Central Square Board of Education accepted the recommendation naming Mr. Jay Adams the new girls varsity basketball coach, effective immediately. The vacancy was created by the decision of longtime coach Kevin Brazell to retire after over 40 years in the role.
As one of the all-time longest tenures of a girls basketball coach in Section 3, Coach Brazell retires with more than 400 wins, one sectional title from this past season as well as helping countless players go on to play in college.
Coach Brazell has also been the driving force behind several charitable causes including a yearly benefit to aid in the fight against cancer. Coach Brazell will continue to coach the modified girls lacrosse team.
Mr. Adams had previously coached the Central Square boys team for the past 20 seasons.
He will be rebuilding a team and program that won its first ever sectional title but also lost four of five starters including 1st team All-CNY and SCAC performer Natalie Bush.
