Brewerton Elementary Holds Annual Walk-A-Thon

Brewerton Elementary School students laced up their sneakers and hit the pavement for the school’s annual Walk-A-Thon celebration, an energetic event that combines walking, dancing and singing around the school’s parking lot.
Each year, the Walk-A-Thon serves as a fun and active way for students and staff to celebrate the success of the school-wide fundraiser. This year’s event came with an extra dose of excitement when students were surprised by a special guest: Syracuse University’s beloved mascot, Otto the Orange, who joined in on the fun by walking and dancing alongside students throughout the event.
“This is such a fun event, and we were treated to some great weather today,” said Principal Brent Bowden. “I loved seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces when Otto came out to surprise them.”
The Walk-A-Thon continues to be a highlight of the school year for Brewerton students and families, bringing the community together to celebrate school spirit, teamwork and achievement.
