A.A. Cole Elementary Hosts First Positivity Project Assembly

A.A. Cole Elementary School recently held its first Positivity Project assembly of the year on Friday, Oct. 10, highlighting the theme of “Being Present” both in school and in the lives of others.
Students from each class were recognized for exemplifying this important character strength. School Counselor Mr. Yurkon also presented “Being Present” awards to new staff members for joining the school community with open hearts and for their dedication to being there for students.
Special guest and parent Mrs. Kelly Blake spoke to students about the importance of mindfulness, taking in meaningful moments, and using calming strategies to stay focused and present throughout the day.
“This was a great way to start our assembly series,” said A.A. Cole Principal Jessica Hill. “We’re so proud of our students and thankful to our volunteer speaker for sharing such a great message.”
At A.A. Cole Elementary, the school community continues to embrace the Positivity Project’s mission to support one another and recognize the value of being present every day.
