Student Support Services

This program focuses on providing direct services to students identified as at-risk of academic failure and whose barriers to academic success are related to social, emotional, and behavioral problems.  This program supports mandated district initiatives including violence prevention and character education.

Services include individual counseling for identified students eligible for AIS counseling services, counseling and support for students transitioning from CSMS to PVM, group counseling, and crisis intervention.

Group counseling addressing barriers to school success could include anger management, study skills, student support groups, and social skills development groups.  Groups will be focused and time limited.

The primary direct service component of the Student Support Program is coordinated by the Student Support Counselor, office located at Paul V. Moore High School.

The Student Support Counselor is a certified school counselor assigned to the Guidance Department at Paul V. Moore High School four days a week and at Central Square Middle School one day per week.  Student support services supplements guidance services.
