Honorable William H. Baker
William Henry Baker moved to Constantia in 1852 and practiced law. Mr.
Baker was elected District Attorney of Oswego County from 1862 to 1865.
Mr. Baker married Sarah, October 27, 1859. In 1863 Mr. Baker built his
home on 400 acres of land on the west side of the village of Constantia.
In 1874 and again in 1876, he was elected to congress to serve the 24th
district, representing Oswego and Madison Counties. In 1893, Mr. Baker was
elected a delegate from the 22nd Senatorial District to the Constitutional
Convention which met in Albany in May 1894.
William Henry Baker died in 1911. He and his family were buried in Trinity
Church cemetery across the street from his home.
