 ELECTION OF BOARD OFFICERS

The Board of Education has established the following policy to both clarify and provide structure to the process involved in electing the President and Vice President of the Board of Education.

             Current seated Board of Education members who desire to be candidates for either President or Vice President shall announce their candidacy at least 15 days prior to the date of the Annual Re-organizational Meeting, by notifying the District Clerk.

            Candidates for the positions of President and Vice President are encouraged to forward a Letter of Introduction and Resume to each current and newly elected Board Member and the District Clerk at least 30 days prior to the Annual Re-organizational Meeting

             The election of President and Vice President of the Board of Education will be conducted at the Annual Re-organizational Meeting, unless the need arises to replace either of the board officers during their term of office.

             President and Vice President of the Board of Education nominated and elected by the simple majority of the full Board for a term of one year, and will take their oath of office immediately following being elected.

             Voting on the candidates for the offices of President and Vice President shall be conducted by individual recognition and recorded as such in the minutes of the Annual Re-organizational Meeting.

             This policy can only be modified through a majority of the full Board of Education membership.
