SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANS

            The Board of Education directs the Superintendent of Schools to facilitate and support the implementation of a comprehensive and on-going strategic plan involving shared decision making at both the district and building levels.

            District and building level responsibilities of all identified stakeholder groups shall develop and implement plans that will:

At the district level:

  1. ensure that the shared decision making (SDM) process is in place and operating at each site.
  2. facilitate the participation of all stakeholders in the SDM process.
  3. ensure open communication.
  4. ensure the integrity, of the SDM process and make recommendations where appropriate.
  5. provide the necessary, support and recommend to the Board of Education financial resources for the process of improvement.
  6. educate all stakeholder groups in the budgetary process and ensure that th3ey have the opp0ortuity to make recommendations with regard to budgetary concerns.
  7. foster the enthusiasm, commitment, and patience for the continuous improvement of the educational process at Central Square.

At the building level:

  1. establish student achievement goals which reflect district-wide beliefs, mission statement and outcomes.
  2. assess needs which will enable the site committee to develop plans for achieving established goals.
  3. encourage initiatives that can be developed to meet site needs.
  4. assume responsibility for on-going communications to all stakeholders.
  5. plan and facilitate assessment of the SDM process at regular intervals.
  6. develop a process to handle site-level problems and concerns.
