Purpose of Modification or Substitution
It is very difficult to place career exploration internship students with law enforcement agencies because of the age requirements and liability issues. In some situations, law enforcement agencies cannot accept internship students at all due to the nature of the occupation. This is true particularly for the CIA, FBI, and U.S. Marshals. We propose to have CEIP students complete the required 54 hours of on-the-job exploration by means of seminars and field trips.
Means of Evaluating Student's Success
Students will be required to attend all seminars and provide the instructor with an outline of each seminar presentation. Students will also be required to complete a career research paper. In addition, students will still be required to complete the required 27 hours of in-class instruction that is required of all CEIP students enrolled in the program.
