Voter Information


Qualifications for voting in school elections are as follows:

  1. Eighteen (18) years of age
  2. Resident of the school district for 30 days prior to vote
  3. Citizen of the United States
  4. Registered voter*

*You may register with the school District Clerk up to five (5) days prior to the Annual Election or with Oswego County Board of Elections up to ten (10) days prior to the election. For information on how to register with the Oswego County Board of Elections click here. The District Clerk, Pearl Horn, will conduct voter registration at the District Office Monday through Friday between the hours of  9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Personal identification and proof of residency must be provided at the time of registration.

Personal Registration for the Annual District Election

The Central Square Central School District will be holding personal registration on May 2, 2017 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the five polling sites:

Election District #1:  Brewerton Elementary School, 9530 US Route 11, Brewerton

Election District #2:  Millard Hawk Primary School, 74 School Drive, Central Square

Election District #3:  Hastings-Mallory Elementary School, 93 Barker Road, Central Square

Election District #4:  Aura A. Cole Elementary School, 1683 State Route 49, Constantia

Election District #5:  Cleveland Village Hall, 2 Clay Street, Cleveland

Where can I vote?

Central Square Central School District has five election districts.

Election District #1:  Brewerton Elementary School
Election District #2:  Millard Hawk Primary School
Election District #3:  Hastings-Mallory Elementary School

Election District #4:  Aura A. Cole Elementary School
Election District #5:  Cleveland Village Hall

Absentee Ballots


Eligible Central Square Central School District residents who are registered voters can cast their votes by absentee ballot.  An application may be obtained by contacting Pearl Horn, District Clerk, at the Central Square District Office, 44 School Drive (located in the PVM high school), or by phone at 668-4220 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or download here.

Board Candidate Information


The Central Square Central School District Board of Education Members are elected by the public at the Annual Meeting and General Election on the third Tuesday in May each year.  Incumbents whose term of office expire must run for re-election if they wish to continue service on the Board of Education. 

Anyone wishing to obtain a petition to become a candidate for one of these three vacancies may obtain a petition from the District Clerk, Pearl Horn, at the District Office, 44 School Drive (located in the PVM high school), Central Square, New York. Petitions must be filed with the Clerk of the Board of Education of the District by 5:00 p.m., April 17, 2017.

Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the District Clerk between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at least 30 days prior to the school district election which is held on the third Tuesday of May.

 

 

 

 

Each petition must be addressed to the District Clerk, Pearl Horn, and be signed by at least 33 qualified voters of the District including the address of each district resident.
