Dear Parents/Guardians:

I would like to take this time to welcome you and your children to our school. I would also like to thank you for entrusting your children to our care. It is an honor and a responsibility that we do not take lightly. While at Aura A. Cole Elementary, you can rest assured that your children will be taught by exceptional teachers that all have a heart for children. In partnership with you, we will challenge your children developmentally, socially, and instructionally to be the best that he/she/they can be. As the school years progress, you may realize that school is much more academically rigorous that it was when you and I were in school.   The increased rigor is due in part to the Federal “No Child Left Behind” Act, and in part to our unwavering goal to maximize the learning potential of each and every student in our school. 

In closing, I would like to reiterate the fact that we truly appreciate the trust you have put in us to educate your children.  With your help and support, we will meet the District’s Mission:  To Empower all Students to Excel as Citizens in a Changing World.
